Sheridan couldn’t think of a more fitting name to embody female cycling than the patroness of cyclists, which portrays strength yet femininity. There also burns an eternal flame for cyclists who have died. Nowadays the shrine of Madonna del Ghisallo contains a small cycling museum with photos and artifacts from the sport.

This was confirmed by the Pope of the day. For this reason a local priest proposed that Madonna del Ghisallo (the apparition) be declared the patroness of cyclists. In later times, Madonna del Ghisallo (the hill) was made part of the Giro di Lombardia bicycle race and has often featured in the Giro d’Italia as well. The apparition became known as the Madonna del Ghisallo, and she became a patroness of local travellers. He ran to it and was saved from the robbers. According to the legend, the Medieval count Ghisallo was being attacked by bandits when he saw an image of the Virgin Mary at a shrine. During the week we meet at Regent’s Park for training sessions or just chatting to while away the laps. We’re known for being friendly, inclusive and welcoming come and join us We organise a selection of club rides every weekend, departing from North London, to suit all abilities. It is named after an alleged Marian apparition. We are passionate about cycling and sharing our enthusiasm. Madonna del Ghisallo is a hill in Magreglio, close to Lake Como in Italy. Sheridan, Terry, and Stuie are all extremely approachable with any question or problem you have. We guarantee you will feel welcomed at Storm Cycles and MadonnaVelo, as a valued member of the cycling community. In years gone by, Sheridan knows exactly what it has felt like to walk into a bike shop and feel intimidated, not wanting to ask any “silly” questions, or seem to be a bother to the staff in the shop. In her lifetime of riding she still hasn’t yet decided whether she loves road riding or mountain biking the most, but is happy to keep undertaking research (by riding constantly!!) in an effort to solve that mystery one day. Sheridan is NOT (and never has been) an elite cyclist, but enjoys competing in local triathlons, cyclocross events, and sportif road bike rides. The RCC exists to help connect like minded riders from all over the world, underpinned by Rapha’s. WHO IS THE RCC The Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) is, as the name suggests, Rapha’s Cycling Club. She is an AustCycle Skills Coach, therefore can increase your skills when it comes to riding on the road safely and confidently. We host 4 rides every week on a Tuesday to suit different time zones around the world (aimed at evenings), join whichever time works best for you. Sheridan Bosworth is co-owner of Storm Cycles with her husband Terry.
